Weekly Meal Prep FAQ's
What is Meal Prep?
Our vegan prepared meals are meals that are prepared ahead of time to make your busy life easier. It’s like TV dinners that you would purchase from the store, except that they are from your local supplier, healthier, nutritious, they are prepared with local, unprocessed ingredients, and they are delicious.
The idea is that when you have healthier things ready to eat, you will eat them instead of other potentially harmful foods. And it works incredibly well.
Should I freeze or refrigerate my meals?
We recommend freezing your meals right away if they won’t be consumed within about 3 days. Freezing your meals will ensure that they remain fresh for a longer period of time.
Not all foods are freezer-friendly. Some foods, like lettuce and other high-water content fruits and vegetables become soggy after freezing, so if there is some of this in your meal package, make sure you remove it and place it in the refrigerator.
Refrigeration is the better option if your meal will be eaten within 3 to 4 days. Once your food is thawed, we do not recommend refreezing it again.
How should I reheat my meals?
The night before consumption, move your meals from the freezer to refrigerator for thawing, then the next day reheat them in the microwave with the original package, reheat in the oven with the oven-safe container, or remove from the original packaging and reheat on the stove-top in a pan.
How long can my meals remain in the freezer or refrigerator?
Although frozen meals cannot be enjoyed as quickly as refrigerated ones, they will last much longer in their frozen state; some foods can be frozen for up to a year.
The FDA has a very helpful chart (FDA Refrigerator and Freezer Storage Chart) which indicates how long certain foods can remain frozen or refrigerated without compromising the food’s safety. Generally, 3 to 4 months but we recommend to not wait that long to eat it, to prevent freezer burn, and not compromise taste and consistency.
Can I freeze all my meals?
Not all foods are freezer-friendly. Some foods like lettuce and other high-water content fruits and vegetables become soggy after freezing; pastas may become mushy.
How much food should I order?
The amount of food you order depends on your preference, dietary restriction, or daily caloric needs.

Do I need to eat the same thing every day for an entire week? Won’t I get bored of weekly meals?
Although we make meals for 5 days, you don’t always eat the same thing for 5 consecutive days; even if you did, that would not be a problem because you'll love our food!
We realize though that some people may have a difficult time eating the same thing all week, so here are some tips to help add variety:
– Skip one or two of your meal prep meals and eat out or cook something else instead; be sure that the meal substitute meals still satisfy your health and fitness goals.
– Plan to add different vegetables, other sides or sauces to your meal prep containers thorough out the week.
– Instead of only making two different types of meals when you do meal prep, consider adding more variety. This option may lengthen your time in the kitchen.
How do I know what each meal contains?
Each meal's ingredients are listed on the website in the meal description.
Where do you source your ingredients?
We source our ingredients locally as much as possible and pick the best and freshest ingredients to give the meals a vibrant color, longest life possible, and highest nutrition.
